1) The further away from Newcastle I get, the more Aussie working class my accent becomes.
2) In Japan people think I am German, or Russian. Sometimes I pretend I am a Croatian farmgirl who works in Tokyo Disneyland. Usually when I dont want to give out free English lessons.
3) I have the odd habit of talking to inanimate objects when I live alone. These objects include, but are not limited to, house plants, the toaster, the kettle and my bed. Our conversations are usually me saying hello or asking them why they take so long to make my toast. Awkward moments follow if i actually ask the kettle this.
4) The one thing I hate about my personality is that in a crisis/confrontation/whatever, I'm too level headed and try to work things out logically and I don't get angry. After the event and having thought it over for a bit I usually think "Crap, that guy was a total asshole! I shoulda kicked him in the nuts!"
5) I have arguably the most disgusting feet in the universe
6) My other bad habit is zoning out during rather important conversations (particularly job interviews) and daydreaming. I think my glazed over expression lost me a few jobs recently. However in my current job in eikaiwa this is actually a plus!

my weekends have been both eventful and slightly strange lately.

last weekend i went to koenji for an all nighter, watching my friend's band (among others) in a rather intimate setting at a rehearsal studio. had a very matesy vibe. oh and my friend's band didst ROCK. they were so entertaining. and there was cheap beer and BBQ. faboooooo.
the next night i went and saw the celibate rifles with the same friend whose band played the night before. it was really fun. i'd seen the band back in 1995 maybe? they were better this time around. maybe cos the sound was better or something. but it was very dancy! i felt like doing the monkey i did!

then work work work....

this weekend, another all nighter on saturday. a party in harajuku with strange foreigners and some cute japanese. i cuddled randoms... which i only do when very drunk... and got a fone number... debating whether or not to call though.
then last night i went for nomi hodai karaoke in honour of my friend siggy's brother's arrival (he's here en route to australia from iraq. he's a british army lad). my friend michi and his friend hisa came. hisa got very drunk and tried to convince us to let him stay at our place (he lives 2 stops from shinjuku... we live 50mins away by train). we ended up walking him home, but is suspect it was just a ploy to get more audrey time. (audrey is my super cute flatmate that everyone loves... but she has a boyfriend, much to most people's disappointment! haha!)

back to work, but my good friend lis is visiting so we should have fun. also my co-worker is having his farewell tonight! my liver will hate me!!!! drinking too much again!

finally got my internet connection going! hoorah!
long story short- a previous tenant hadn't cancelled their account... or paid it for about 2 months before they left, so our fone line was tied up and we couldn't get our connection. SHITTY!
but is ok now. i shall do some pictures and shit more often maybe. depends how lazy i am on my days off! other than that, i can put up my many fotos of shit!

last week was my birthday, so i went to taste of chaos in shin-kiba. was so much fun!!! i haven't been in a mosh since i was 17! dir en grey were very impressive. kyo vomited blood as i'd promised my friends he would. haha! and i got to look at die from my vantage point. but fuck me those fan girls are intense! i had one yelling "DIE!!" and singing off key in my ear. she was very annoying. but then, the fan boys are just as bad.
i went up the front for the used. they were really quite awesome. i especially liked it when in the encore they did a little interlude of refused during maybe memories. was cute. killswitch engage were a nice surprise near the end too. they were rather METALE... and we rocked out some good. oh and there was a huge amount of hot japanese lads.

and last night we got drunk in shimbashi! yay! being old is fun!
tonight i'm going out drinking again! my poor liver! haha! it's so good not having to be the designated driver! whee!

hey everybody! this is a journal update from Nippon!
just a little update to let you know that i am sorta here, but not. for example, i'll be resonding to comments etc, but i won't be paying much attention to my devwatch list until i get an internet connection at my apartment (which is maybe about a month away). so i'm not being one of those people who watches people and never visits their pages, i'm just being one of those people who has to pay by the hour at an internet cafe.
